Surfahs.....
Here are the guys surfing...they would wake up early every morning and do an hour of "surfwatch" before finding the "perfect" wave. It's so beautiful everywhere in Hawaii that it was torture to have to go on these surf watches with them. I was being teased by the beauty, only to return to the truck to check out another surf watch. All I wanted to do was run, hike, or just hand on the beach. After the first day, I understood what all this meant. It was fun to watch them catch some waves! Here is my baby........Cooper, riding one!

Cooper is doing a surf watch in this one. I managed to get a coconut tree in this one while he checks the surf.
That's me looking at the sea turtle we saw trying to swim ashore. We watched him for over 20 minutes and we were contemplating whether to try to snorkel and find him! The picture of the pot is of "Malasadas" which are Hawaiian desserts that Terri introduced me to. It's similar to a doughnut, but 100 times better....it was warm, soft, and DELICIOUS! I just don't want to know the calorie count on those babies. We had cinammon and the sugar kind. We brought them back to the boys after hours of surfing and they loved them! Thanks Terri!
Honeymoon on the South Side...Poipu....
Spouting Horn: This natural wonder occurs water rushes under a lava shelf and bursts through a small opening at the surface.Cooper decided to take me there at night when we couldn't see one thing and the sound was like a raging monster. It was a bit scary to say the least. The next day, we ran there and experienced it's beauty during the day time. It was awesome and we stood right next to it.
How do you spell the name of Hawaii's Garden Island?
K-A-U-A-I. I've spelled the island's name so many different combinations with U's first and many A's. Now, I think the correct spelling is imbedded in my head. Everywhere you turn these are the type of views that you get in Kauai. Cooper and I left on December 23rd...have our real honeymoon and to visit with his brother Todd and our new sister in law Terri. I've been to many places and would have to say that Switzerland and Kauai are my top two most beautiful places in the world. Some parts of the island remind me of Kerala, India where I was born. The coconut trees, the fruit, the lush vegetation, the kind people....
